The Seal of Haagenti comes from the Ars Goetia tradition, where Haagenti is named as the 48th spirit and a Great President of Hell, said to command thirty-three legions. His symbolism is deeply connected with alchemy, transformation, hidden knowledge, and the refinement of the self.

In traditional demonological texts, Haagenti is described as a powerful spirit who can make people wise in many subjects, transmute metals into gold, and change wine into water and water into wine. Haagenti is also described as appearing in the form of a great bull with griffin-like wings, later taking human shape when called upon.
